Born December 24th, 2000, Vanya Mortis is a young artist based in Kansas City. Primarily self taught, Morits has worked on a variety of projects including commissions, a book cover, teaching, and multiple galleries and projects in partnership with The Alcott Arts Center.

Mortis is a mixed media artist, primarily working with drawing ink and acrylic with experience in colored pencil, pyrography, sculpture, linoleum printing, water color, marker, and more. Their work is primarily characterized by bright colors and textures with clean lines.  They work in a semi-realistic style, with realistic proportions and a strong cartoon influence, often  taking inspiration from surrealism.

My main focus is long term project New World Gods (NWG), a webcomic in development since 2014. Currently in the last stages of development, the protect is expected to be up and running within the next few years.
